Roma are eyeing Real Madrid striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
The imminent arrival of Valencia ace David Villa will push Huntelaar further down the pecking order in new Real coach Manuel Pellegrini's plans.
Roma made contact a fortnight ago about Huntelaar's situation and are expected to step up their bid once Real complete the signing of Villa.
