Arsenal's Granit Xhaka is inching closer to a £17 million move to Roma.

The Swiss midfielder, who has often come in for criticism at Arsenal from the club's supporters, is being moved on by manager Mikel Arteta.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the two clubs are very close to an agreement, with only the final details left to sort.

Xhaka should head over to Italy in the coming days, complete his medical, and sign for Jose Mourinho's team.

He should be a Roma player by the time their pre-season tour of Portugal starts next week.
