Roma fullback Leonardo Spinazzola is to fly to Finland on Sunday for surgery on his Achilles tendon.
The Italy international broke down in Friday night's 2-1 quarter-final victory over Belgium.
He was stretchered off in tears and immediately diagnosed with an Achilles tendon tear, although the extent of the damage is not yet known.
TMW reports tests showed a subcutaneous rupture of the left Achilles tendon.
Sky Italia says Roma have decided Spinazzola will visit specialist Professor Sakari Orava at the NEO Hospital in Turku.
