Roma defender Chris Smalling has informed Manchester United he has no intentions of returning to Old Trafford.
On a straight loan for the season with the Giallorossi, Smalling is playing some of the best football of his career.
Il Tempo says the England international is so happy with his lot in Italy that he has informed United he doesn't want to return.
A priority is to sign permanently with Roma, though they have no such option in the current deal. As such, Smalling would be willing to stay in Serie A with another club.
Juventus and Inter Milan are monitoring developments.
