Roma coach Ranieri satisfied after Bordeaux draw

AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri was satisfied with their 1-1 draw with Bordeaux.

Roma opened the Tournoi de Paris with a 1-1 draw thanks to Matteo Brighi's header cancelling out a Wendel penalty.

"The result didn't count for much, as primarily I wanted to see players who hadn't had much space last season," said Ranieri.

"It's never easy to play this type of tournament with two games in as many days. It is imperative to rotate the squad.

"We conceded a goal first, but got back to scoring and that is positive. We showed good fitness levels, determination and the hunger to do well.

"It was also a positive test in terms of tactics."
