Roma coach Paulo Fonseca insists he expects Edin Dzeko to stay.

The striker is being linked with Inter Milan.

“Dzeko is here with us, he is our player. I can say he has worked very well and I saw no signs suggesting he's distant from us," said Fonseca after a friendly win over Perugia.

“At this moment, we are clearly missing a centre-back. We have two forwards, Dzeko and Patrik Schick, so the priority on the transfer market must be signing a central defender.

“I am not yet totally satisfied with the team's performance, but we're early in the process and I saw an aggressive attitude today, even if we then lost the ball too easily."
