Roma coach Fonseca understands Florenzi leaving for Valencia

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca says he can understand Alessandro Florenzi's decision to leave for Valencia.

Florenzi has joined Valencia on a dry loan until the end of the season.

“Florenzi and I had a relaxed and direct conversation. He's a great professional, he had the attitude of a great captain," said Fonseca in his press conference.

“He wants to play more, but I can't make promises to anyone. He had the opportunity to go to Valencia and decided to go for it. The situation is very simple."

Roma signed Carles Perez, Roger Ibanez and Gonzalo Villar during the transfer window, but Fonseca says they won't play from the start against Sassuolo.

“All three are called up, but they won't play from the beginning, but it may happen that they come on as substitutes.

“They didn't train much with the team and we may have the need to play them."
