Roma coach Paulo Fonseca was delighted with victory over Torino.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a Jordan Veretout penalty and Lorenzo Pellegrini struck for Roma in the 3-1 win, which also saw Wilfried Singo sent off for Toro.
"The three points were the most important thing and we knew it wouldn't be simple, but we controlled the game and scored three goals," Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.
“It's true, we didn't control the ball in the final minutes and allowed Torino the opportunity to close on our penalty area. I didn't like that we conceded a goal down to 10 men, but for the whole game, I am satisfied."
Fonseca added: “We are satisfied with our position in the table, but we are also a very, very long way off the end of the season. We must keep taking it one game at a time and start preparing for Atalanta on Sunday."
