Roma coach Di Francesco frustrated after CSKA Moscow victory

AS Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco admitted some frustration after their 2-1 win at Champions League opponents CSKA Moscow.

Kostas Manolas and Lorenzo Pellegrini gave Roma a precious win away to 10-man CSKA.

“We could've done far better in terms of team performance and we could've scored a third goal, because we did create the chances. I don't want this to happen again, as we are too sluggish and complacent," Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are improving in midfield and Bryan Cristante did well to settle into our mechanisms, but there is a lot of work to be done. CSKA's best quality was getting the ball between the lines."

Edin Dzeko had numerous chances again this evening, but much like his recent Serie A form, struggled to take them.

“Edin can always do more, as he is always dangerous. At times, we need to be more egotistical, as we make the wrong decisions in attack, choosing to shoot when we should pass and vice-versa.

“This is above all the case with the younger players and I'm sure they'll improve with experience."
