Roma chief Monchi has revealed they were offered Nice striker Mario Balotelli.

Off contract in June, Balotelli is open to a return to Italy.

Monchi said, “He was offered to us during the January transfer window in case Edin Dzeko was leaving.

"Mino Raiola is smart, he knows what to do for his player.

“The Coach told the truth, he did talk about Balotelli with Sassuolo, and we did discuss it with Mino in January. We are happy with our forward players now and don't think about replacing them with anyone."
