Roma chief Monchi opens RB Leipzig talks for Forsberg

AS Roma are chasing RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg.

Corriere dello Sport says Roma chief Monchi is eager to sign the Sweden international.

Monchi already has struck personal terms with Forsberg's camp and is opening negotiations with RBL over a fee.

RBL are seeking €40m to sell the Swede, which is regarded too steep by Monchi.

Just on the weekend, Monchi stated: “I know Forsberg well, but you might like to know I don't like to sign players after a good World Cup, because things change very quickly.

“Forsberg is a very good player, but we have to differentiate between who is talented and who we need to buy. The Coach (Eusebio Di Francesco) likes him too, but that doesn't mean we're trying to sign him.

“After all, I like Eden Hazard, but I'm not going to buy him – unfortunately!"
