Roma chief Monchi believes Edin Dzeko never seriously considered joining Chelsea.

Dzeko came close to joining Chelsea last week.

But Monchi says: “I am convinced that if Edin had really wanted to leave Roma, he would've gone, and the same is true for us. We were all 100 per cent convinced and made that clear in the negotiations.

“There is no problem with Di Francesco, as he is 100 per cent our Coach. I have nothing to deny. We are all under the spotlight and under pressure, because after seven games without a win we do feel a little uneasy.

“I had similar situations at Sevilla, because when you win a great deal, the pressure is on to keep that going. Just ask Zinedine Zidane – six months ago he won everything at Real Madrid and now they act as if he's dead in the water!

“It's normal for professionals to be under pressure, especially a club like Roma with so many fans."
