Roma chief Francesco Totti: We were poor against Shakhtar

Roma chief Francesco Totti says they let themselves down in defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk.

Roma were poor for the Champions League first-leg defeat.

“The Roma we saw in Ukraine was at times unexpected," said Totti.

“The first half was extraordinary and the second was unworthy of Roma. We needed to get a result, unfortunately leave with a defeat, but are still very much in the running. We want to get back to being the side we saw in that first half, which is the Roma we all want to see."

He added: "Radja Nainggolan isn't very sharp at the moment, but then people always expect top performances from him. He remains an extraordinary player, the Coach is relying on him and we're very happy to have him in the side."
