Roma chief Bruno Conti has blasted Catania fans after Sunday's 1-1 draw in Sicily.

"There was an indescribable atmosphere yesterday," he lamented on Centro Suono Sport. "I don't want to cause controversy but the powers that be need to look at that.

"The window of our coach was broken and we were spat at and insulted. You can't go from the hotel to the stadium without a huge escort of cars.

"How can you play a game of football when you think that you might not be able to leave the stadium?

"What is this, a war? We're supposed to be talking about a sport. I'm worried about the future of calcio for the children who come to watch games. Something has to change."
