AS Roma captain Francesco Totti is proud of his senior role.

Totti is rated among the greatest captains in Italian football.

"There is no secret to being a successful leader," he told reporters at a Nike event this afternoon.

"The most important thing is to understand the group, and respect your Coach and teammates. It's also useful to be available to everyone and stay humble, even in your highest moments.

"I think that's what you need if you're going to be a top leader."
