AS Roma attacker Bryan Cristante hailed his teammates for their Europa League defeat of Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 2-1 win on the night in Kiev, 5-2 on aggregate, means the Giallorossi have secured four consecutive European victories in a row for the first time since 1990-91. Roma are not into the hat for the quarterfinals draw.
“We did well to control the game and in the second half the spaces opened up, allowing us to close the tie definitively," Cristante told Sky Italia.
“We know in Italy the teams are more tactically-prepared and stronger in defence, whereas there are more spaces in Europe.
“Now we have to win against Napoli this weekend, do our best and get right back on track after the setback in Parma."
