Roma are hoping to get another year of Davide Zappacosta on loan from Chelsea.

The Italian defender was on loan with the capital club this season, but he has failed to make many appearances.

Zappacosta has suffered injury issues in his calf and cruciate ligament.

But Roma do like the player, per Gazzetta Dello Sport, and they want another loan for the 2020-2021 season.

Given the player's injuries, Chelsea are likely to agree, as they would find it difficult to find a buyer in the summer.

A loan would keep his wages off the books, which would help Chelsea as they eye their own summer rebuild under Frank Lampard.
