AS Roma have confirmed the appointment of Thomas Di Benedetto as new president.
The 62-year-old American becomes the first foreign president in Roma's history and takes over from Giorgio Cappelli, who was named as caretaker president in July after the end of the Sensi family's 18-year association with the club.
DiBenedetto headed up a four-man consortium that agreed a takeover of the club earlier this year, and his formal unveiling as president was made at a club board meeting today.
"It is truly an honour for me to be formally appointed president and chairman of AS Roma, a team with such a long and glorious history," DiBenedetto said in a statement.
"We will continue to work intensively to bring to the passionate fans of AS Roma a team that they can be proud of."
