Roma admit buyout talks over for Fioranelli consortium

The Vinicio Fioranelli consortium has dropped takeover talks with Roma.

A statement released by Roma owners Italpetroli this evening indicates Fioranelli and his consortium have not met the requirements necessary to buy the club.

"With reference to diffuse reports carried by some organs of the media with respect to the interest represented by Mr Vinicio Fioranelli, on account of a Swiss company, to buy a majority stake in Roma, Italpetroli clarifies that, despite profuse efforts, the conditions to proceed in an eventual operation have not been realised."

Several other parties have registered an interest in buying Roma this summer, the most notable being Francesco Angelini, a pharmaceutical magnate.
