Rolando Maran has been named new coach of Genoa.

Maran replaces Davide Nicola, who was sacked on Wednesday.

Nicola took charge in December with Genoa bottom of the Serie A table, but managed to guide them to safety.

But he was still sacked by Genoa.

Maran arrives having been fired by Cagliari in February.
