Real Madrid midfielder Rodrygo Goes admits the players enjoyed mocking Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah after winning the Champions League final.
Salah had gone into the game talking about "revenge" after their 2018 final defeat in Kyiv.
“We had heard his statements, yes. We get everything," said Rodrigo on the YouTube podcast Podpah.
“Sometimes it's not even about winning. If someone provokes you, you mainly want to win so that you can catch them there later. We had resolved that we had to win in order to ridicule Salah."
According to Rodrygo, Luka Modric had some words for Salah when Real's players made a guard of honour for the losing finalist.
“Salah passed us visibly shaken. Modric stood in front and said to him 'Okay okay, better next time'. When I heard that I started laughing really hard."
