Rodrygo Goes thrilled with Real Madrid goalscoring debut: I'm not Ronaldo

Rodrygo Goes was delighted with a goalscoring debut for Real Madrid's 2-0 defeat of Osasuna.

The striker came on for Vinicius Junior after 71 minutes and as soon as he stepped on to the Santiago Bernabéu pitch he scored Real Madrid's second goal, sealing the third consecutive win for Zinedine Zidane's side in the league.

At the end of the match, Rodrygo spoke to the media: “I've always had a bit of luck on debuts and I'm happy about that. Today I'm very happy to get on and to score and be able to help the team. I'd like to thank my family and teammates, who talk to me every day, give me a lot of confidence. I've already said that whenever I score in the Real Madrid jersey its emotional.

"I don't want any comparisons with Ronaldo [Nazário] being made because he's one of the game's all-time best and one of my country's best. As for the goal… I controlled it well and knew that from there on in things would work out. I have to always show that I'm capable of playing here."
