Rodgers warns Klopp of handling Liverpool 'emotion' in title hunt

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has warned Jurgen Klopp to keep emotions in check as Liverpool hunt down the Premier League title.

Rodgers was the last man to go close to winning the league but saw the 2014 title bid collapse at the death.

There were wild scenes inside and outside of Anfield as Liverpool fans started to really believe they would finally do it.

And with similar to be expected if Klopp's class of 2019 keep it up, Rodgers has warned Klopp of the madness around the corner.

He told talkSPORT: "The last fourteen games, we actually won twelve of them and drew one, and obviously the big loss for us was the Chelsea game, and we still ended up losing the title.

“It's one where it's very difficult. It's an incredible club, the support base is amazing, but because it's so long [since winning a title], the emotion can have an effect.

“It's trying to manage that, keep that calmness.

“Use that emotional connection but also try to ensure that you don't over-think it and just play the game rather than the whole process, which is trying to win the league."
