Rodgers remaining calm on Liverpool title talk

Brendan Rodgers refuses to get carried away with Liverpool's Premier League title hopes.

The Reds sit second on the table, four points behind Chelsea, with their game in hand against Sunderland to come this Wednesday.

A victory there will have the Anfield club a point off top but Rodgers is still adamant that his club are only on the way to achieving success and not quite there yet.

"We haven't won it for a long time and it may or may not be this year but there is no doubt we are on the right road to winning a title here," he said ahead of the home meeting with the Black Cats.

"We are nowhere near the finished article but we are evolving and I take great pride in that. While we are learning and improving we will hopefully continue to pick up points.

"We are enjoying the moment and we are on the right path. The 82 goals (we have scored this season) shows the confidence we haven and if we maintain that, we will win many more games."
