Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers admits the club are enduring a 'challenging time' to keep their players.
Wesley Fofana is a primary target for Chelsea while Newcastle have failed with two bids for James Maddison.
Both players started in Leicester's 2-2 draw with Brentford.
Speaking to Sky Sports News before the opening match against the Bees, Rodgers said: "I think it is always a challenging time until the window shuts.
"There's always lots of speculation and gossip around players leaving but I always assess the players every day and if their mentality does not change and they have that commitment then that is all you want.
"Both players are very important players for us and I look forward to seeing them play."
