Rochdale boss would settle for poor performance and three points

Keith Hill insists results are the most important thing after seeing Rochdale exit the Carling Cup with a 3-2 defeat at Premier League Birmingham. The League Two side held their own for much of the game and took the lead through Gary Jones, with the midfielder also scoring a late consolation after Blues had taken control of the game.

But despite playing some attractive football, Dale have won just one of their five games so far this term to leave Hill concerned.

He said: "I adore football, it's a massive part of my life and I enjoy seeing players develop.

"We expressed ourselves out there but my philosophy will mean nothing if we don't get results."
