Released Leicester City defender Robert Huth is continuing talks with Aston Villa.
The Leicester Mercury says the Championship side are understood to have made contact with Huth's representatives over a potential deal after the 33-year-old left City this summer following three-and-a-half seasons at the King Power Stadium.
However, cash-strapped Villa are believed to be unsure whether they will be able to afford to sign Huth due to their "severe challenges" with Financial Fair Play.
The Midlands club need to find between £40-45million to meet FFP rules.
