River Plate striker David Trezeguet admits he had recent contact with Juventus.

The Frenchman says retirement isn't in his current thoughts.

"I'd like to stay here in the future as a leader," said Trezeguet. "Now, though, I still really want to play, I have a two-year contract and at this point I want to continue my career.

"I must say that there was also an approach to return to Juventus, but my future is at River."
