River Plate sporting director Enzo Francescoli has opened the door to signing Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Higuain has been linked with River after holding a video conference with the club's youth players.
“He's the one who decides. Today he wants to respect his contract with Juve, so we'll see at a later date," Francescoli, a former Cagliari and Torino player, told Tuttojuve.com.
“Obviously, for us, it's important that the player wants to come back here. We'll wait to speak to him through official channels in the future.
“It's always nice when a River idol comes back to wear our jersey. For us he's a very important player, he grew up here and his father also played for River.
“We'll see what decision he makes in the future."
