Borussia Monchengadbach striker Marcus Thuram favours a move to Manchester United.
BILD says United are leading the race to sign Thuram, amid interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Newcastle.
France international Thuram is 'ready to join' the Red Devils in the January transfer window in a cut-price deal.
The 25-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and Monchengladbach are weighing up whether to cash in on the services of their striker rather than losing him on a free transfer later down the line.
Aston Villa and Newcastle are also interested in the former Guingamp star, though are being overlooked by the player.
They have been told to 'save their bids'.
