Former Liverpool star John Arne Riise criticised Everton caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson for substituting Moise Kean against Manchester United.
Ferguson took off Kean less than 20 minutes after bringing him on as a substitute.
The Toffees were holding on for a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
But Riise believes that Ferguson is destroying the player's confidence by treating him in such a way.
"Sometimes in football, you have to think about the human part," Riise told talkSPORT.
"He's destroying this young boy's confidence.
"He doesn't even shake his hand. Give him a hug – he's a young boy. That is the worst thing you can do for any player, but especially a young boy who doesn't speak the language very well.
"He destroyed that young player."
