Pep Guardiola admits he has been impressed by Raheem Sterling's recent performances as a right winger.
The 21-year-old Manchester City winger likes to operate on the left side of attack but was used on the other flank in pre-season matches against Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.
In the 3-2 defeat to the Gunners, Sterling produced a delightful ball for Sergio Aguero's opener and his contribution while out of position has been lauded by Guardiola ahead of the new season in which he plans to use his entire squad.
"Of course Sterling likes to play on the left, but that is when it is good to know the players," the Spaniard told Sky Sports.
"The last two games he has played on the right and he did it really well.
"All the players are going to play an important role so we cannot judge after three friendly games which players are going to play all the season.
"There are a lot of games and players cannot play every three days so the players who are ready will play more."
City kick off the 2016/17 Premier League season with a home clash against Sunderland on Saturday.
