Everton FA Cup hero Paul Rideout says David Moyes is capable of managing Manchester United.
"David Moyes, with the limited amount of money he has had and the job he has done, has been frightening," Rideout said.
"I don't think, in general, people appreciate it. He is the one who has stood out in management.
"I think Moyes would be ready now (for a job with the big four). He has had enough experience, he is the third longest serving Premier League manager and he is the one who has impressed.
"He has stepped up a level after doing a good job at Preston and has had a good seven or so years at Everton and when Ferguson does retire I think he is as good as any candidate out there.
"He seems like a good man manager and knows a good player when he sees one. He spent £15million on Marouane Fellaini and I remember thinking 'Who the heck is he?' and he has been an absolutely superb player.
"David's done a great job and I think he is ready to step up."
