Portland Timbers may have started slowly in 2014 but that hasn't stopped Donovan Ricketts from talking up their title chances.
The Timbers are currently second bottom on the Western Conference table with just four points from their opening seven matches, having drawn on four occasions and losing three times.
But goalkeeper Ricketts is remaining defiant as his side deals with a winless beginning, suggesting that there will be success heading towards Providence Park at the end of the season.
"Maybe we're starting a bit slow and we're just trying to get our footing," Ricketts said late last week prior to the weekend's 1-0 loss to Real Salt Lake.
"Come at the end of the season, you'll see trophies. I guarantee that."
Despite Ricketts' predictions, the Timbers will need to open their account soon as they have already fallen 12 points behind conference leaders FC Dallas.
