Newcastle United youngster Michael Richardson is targeting a first team breakthrough this season.

Richardson was farmed out on loan to Leyton Orient last term but is yet to make his full Toon debut.

Now he is aiming to catch the eye this summer, and he told the Evening Chronicle: "You always aim for the first team.

"When you're in the reserves it's about catching the eye and playing well.

"Hopefully you can get your head through the door. I have next season to look forward to."
