RFEF president Luis Rubiales says Spanish football would welcome Lionel Messi back to Barcelona.

The PSG star is being discussed at Barca regarding a sensational return.

Rubiales said: “I was lucky enough to play against Messi, but I don't know if it's good or bad luck because I had the job of marking him; he's unique, spectacular, fantastic.

“But in terms of his possible return, I'm not getting involved.

“Everyone in Spain and all the followers of Spanish football want the best players to be in our league.

“Mind you, it's only a question for him or Barcelona who are the team negotiating... or not, because we don't know."
