Jose Antonio Reyes was delighted with his debut for Atletico Madrid in yesterday's victory over Lazio.

The Spanish winger declared: "My will has always been to convince those that doubted me after moving here. Perhaps with my play today, I have silenced these doubters. Hopefully, this is just the beginning.

"I already have said that the great objective of Atletico this season is to finish in the top three or four and to fight for the Champions League.

"Atletico has a great squad. But it is important to keep our feet on the ground."

Atletico coach Javier Aguirre was purring after Reyes' performance: "Reyes will soon become a natural part of this team. He has already become so off the pitch. And on it, without much training, has already shown his quality today. "He is a top level player who will do great things for us. Surely, the Atletico fans will soon be won over."
