Players Who Could Potentially Attract Currency

With the Retirement of Petr Cech, and David Ospina already sold to Napoli, it looks unlikely Arsenal would do any more business in this department. Of course it is a possibility that someone like Emiliano Martinez could be sold however if so it would not be more than a few million.

Arsenal's defence has been the subject of frustration for fans and criticism from the footballing world for many years now. It is obvious there needs to be some turnover to improve the defence and luckily there are many players with currency who they can put on the transfer table.

Laurent Koscielny

Position: Centre-Back

Age: 33

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €8 Million

The ageing Arsenal Captain has been the subject of much media attention since he went on strike for the clubs pre-season tour of America. Allegedly the Frenchman is protesting Arsenal putting too high a price on his head as he desires a return to his native France. Taking into account his age and his actions, it seems only appropriate that he should be sold.

Potential Revenue: €7-10 Million

Calum Chambers

Position: Centre-Back

Age: 24

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €14 Million

The defender has spent the last two seasons on loan at other Premier League clubs and has struggled to cement a spot in the Arsenal set-up. Due to the surplus of centre-backs it seems as if he should be one of the first to head out the door. As an Englishman and at Age 24, he does have large currency potential.

Potential Revenue: €15-20 Million

Position: Centre-Back

Age: 31

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €20 Million

One of the tougher calls on this list as he has only be an Arsenal for a season, but given his age it might be necessary to seek a transfer for him to rejuvenate the defence. His departure will make room for the likes of Rob Holding, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Krystian Bielik to flourish. Sokratis might be able to bring in enough profit to make the deal worthwhile. Of course if the Gunners were to be very bold they might consider selling Mustafi before Sokratis. The price-tag for the German would be similar following a disappointing campaign. AC Milan are apparently keen to sign Mustafi and it would be a real statement of intent from the Gunners.

Potential Revenue: €20-25 Million

Carl Jenkinson

Position: Right-Back

Age: 27

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €2 Million

Jenkinson struggled for game time last season only tallying 585 minutes for the gunners and at 27 it appears he has run his race at the Emirates. His departure won't leave much of a hole, and even if Bellerin were to get injured, the emergency spot at right-back could be filled by Maitland-Niles, one of the young up-and-coming wingers in Emile Smith Rowe or even a fullback from the academy.

Potential Revenue: €2-4 Million

There is some exciting youth popping up in the Arsenal midfield and it might be time for some of the older stars to make way for the new brigade.

Mohamed Elneny

Position: Defensive Midfield

Age: 27

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €8 Million

With the midfield partnership of Torreira and Xhaka strong and Matteo Guendouzi exciting gunners fans globally, there doesn't appear to be any room left for the Egyptian. His departure will give more opportunity to the likes of Joe Willock and at 27 he has plenty more football to play at the top level, attracting a fair amount of interest/money.

Potential Revenue: €10-15 Million

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Position: Attacking Midfield

Age: 30

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €25 Million

A talented attacker who has been at the top level for a long time, however with the plethora of young talent coming to the fore, it might be the time for him to find a transfer while he still holds plenty of currency. This will probably be the area the gunners will look to strengthen as they look for talent that move across the frontline to pair up with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock.

Potential Revenue: €20-25 Million

Mesut Ozil

Position: Attacking Midfield

Age: 30

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €25 Million

The same arguments that apply to Mkhitaryan apply also to Ozil. However Ozil has been mercurial in recent seasons going in and out of form and more importantly in and out of favour. His massive pay-check will not be missed.

Potential Revenue: €20-25 Million

Kelechi Nwakali

Position: Attacking Midfield

Age: 21

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €250 Thousand

Hasn't been able to showcase his talent and now at 21 should seek opportunities elsewhere.

Potential Revenue: €1 Million

The forwards have been the most reliable and successful area of the pitch for the gunners in recent times with Lacazette and Aubameyang smashing in goals for fun. The exciting youth of Alex Iwobi, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Bakayo Saka provide plenty of hope for the Arsenal frontline.

There is a question whether maybe one of these players should be sold for a high-price, but it appears Arsenal are sticking with a youth policy that should support this group. However there are a few who might be sold in order not to overcrowd the group.

Takuma Asano

Position: Secondary-Striker

Age: 24

Market Value (According to Transfermakrt): €1.5 Million

The Japanese International has struggled to hit the back of the net as often as he'd like on his various loans in Germany in recent seasons. It looks as though opportunity will be hard to find and therefore should be up for transfer.

Potential Revenue: €3-5 Million

Total Potential Revenue: €100-130 Million

This kind of money will help Arsenal rejuvenate the squad and bring in some big money signings. The main priority will be a top-quality centre-back as well as some attacking midfielders to fill the whole left by Aaron Ramsey.

Some of these names include, Ruben Dias, William Saliba, Kieran Tierney, Everton, Nicholas Pepe and Wilfried Zaha.

It's a big transfer window coming up for the Gunners.
