Gini Wijnaldum has had a new contract offer from Liverpool for some time, it has been revealed.
The Sunday World says Wijnaldum's current Liverpool contract will expire next summer and he will be allowed to start talks with clubs next month over a free transfer unless he agrees to a new deal with Liverpool.
While there have been suggestions that Liverpool have yet to offer 30-year-old Wijnaldum a few deal, the player and his advisers have been presented with terms over a new three-year contract.
However, the financial remuneration is believed to be some way short of what Wijnaldum is hoping for in what will be the last big contract of his career.
After victory over Wolves, Wijnaldum side-stepped talk over his future, as he insisted the next move needed to be made by the club.
"I already said in my previous interview, I don't talk about my contract situation, I talk about the game," he said.
"The club talk about my contract. There's a connection, there was a connection from the first moment I came here, the supporters supported me a lot, but it's not for me to talk about."
