REVEALED: Why Real Madrid registered Camavinga with Castilla

Real Madrid registered Eduardo Camavinga with Raul's Castilla squad when he first signed from Rennes.

Marca says Real Madrid finalised his signing before last weekend, but they didn't want to present the player in order to avoid a possible bureaucratic issue. When Camavinga was signed late on August 31, the club registered him as a Castilla player.

Why? The answer is simple: Real Madrid, until the very last minute, were trying to complete the signing of the summer in Kylian Mbappe.

They didn't want anything to cause a problem with their pursuit of the forward, and the first-team squad was full, even if Alvaro Odriozola's move to Fiorentina gave them a little more wriggle room. To avoid any issues, Miguel Gutierrez, Sergio Arribas, Antonio Blanco and Marvin Park were all registered with Castilla, too.

A lot of players could have left on the last day of the window, most notably Mariano Diaz, Luka Jovic and Dani Ceballos, but in the end everything was clear and the green light was given for Camavinga to then move into the first team.
