Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo received - and rejected - a massive offer from PSG last summer, it has been revealed.

El Mundo Deportivo says PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi tried for Ronaldo ahead of Barcelona ace Neymar, regarding the Portuguese as his No1 transfer target.

Financially, the offer was attractive to Ronaldo, but it was PSG's status in France that put him off.

"The offer of PSG was interesting in economic terms, but in terms of sports..." said a source.

"CR7 is a winner, he wants to go to a team that fights for all titles and which can enable him to win individual awards such as the Ballon d'Or."
