Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno's move to Barcelona fell through over a purchase clause, it has been revealed.
Mundo Deportivo says the two clubs had agreed on a loan deal to the end of the season with a permanent option. However, Valencia's insistence that the price be set at €60m - and the option be compulsory - turned off Barca.
The Catalans attempted to drive down the cash component by offering players to VCF in part exchange. Carlos Perez, Moussa Wague, Abel Ruiz and Monchu were all put forward - but rejected by Valencia.
VCF owner Peter Lim made a final attempt by suggesting Barca buy Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes and send him on-loan to Valencia in exchange for Rodrigo. Barca were keen, but the move came too late with Fernandes set to join Manchester United.
