Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is holding back Arturo Vidal because he believes he isn't fit.

Vidal arrived in the summer from Bayern Munich, having undergone knee surgery in April.

Okdiario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito de Jugones, revealed Valverde is frustrated with the condition of Vidal.

"Valverde is angry because Arturo Vidal is not in condition," revealed Inda. "He has come out of form and is not in a position to play professional football at the moment."

Indeed, Valverde has gone with Sergi Roberto and Rafinha ahead of the Chile international when seeking to rest Sergio Busquets. The Barca coach has spoken of his admiration for Vidal, describing him as a "warrior", but is currently fed-up with the midfielder's poor fitness.
