Thomas Tuchel blocked PSG from signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in January 2019, it has been revealed.
Le 10 Sport recounts a story of when Benzema was ready to sign for PSG during the winter market of season 2018/19.
Benzema had held talks with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that previous summer as he found himself questioning his future at Real Madrid.
The Frenchman was prepared to leave Madrid midway through the campaign and was sold on joining PSG after talks with Al-Khelaifi.
However, then PSG coach Tuchel blocked the move, insisting other positions needed strengthening. Instead of signing the striker, PSG would splash out €40m on Leandro Paredes from Zenit St Petersburg.
Tuchel was sacked by PSG last season ahead of taking charge of Chelsea and leading them to Champions League success.
