REVEALED: Tottenham fancied Swansea signing Joel Asoro, but...

Tottenham were keen on new Swansea City signing Joel Asoro, it has been revealed.

The Sun says Spurs had agreed a fee with Sunderland for the speedy Swede but the teenager's wage expectations were too high.

Asoro, 19, has instead joined Swansea for a fee of £2.5million.

Speedy forward Asoro caught the eye in the Black Cats side despite their relegation from the Championship.

And Swans snapped him up in a bargain deal despite rival interest from several clubs. He will head for Wales to tie up the deal today.

Sunderland have been trying to move out some big earners but are now raising funds by letting one of their best prospects go.
