REVEALED: The Man City whiz Leicester wanted in Mahrez mega offer

Leicester City wanted Patrick Roberts in Manchester City's offer for Riyad Mahrez this week.

The highly-rated 20-year-old winger is halfway through his second season on loan at Celtic.

But Pep Guardiola was not willing to sell Roberts, a decision that dealt another blow to City's deadline day pursuit of Mahrez, says the Daily Mail.

The Foxes were ready to accept a straight cash deal of £80million for the Algerian, insisting the figure was market value for the 26-year-old after Philippe Coutinho's move to Barcelona.

The City top brass were not prepared to go over £60m for the 2016 PFA player of the year with Roberts valued at £15m.
