Tottenham players were shocked when Harry Kane was dumped to the bench for defeat to Newcastle United.

The Telegraph says Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has upset some inside the locker room over his selection policy.

Kane scored a hat-trick against Asteras Tripolis, but did not start against Newcastle - a decision that confused a number of players in Pochettino's squad.

The striker eventually came on late in the second-half of the 2-1 defeat.
