Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho this summer, it has been revealed.
The London Evening Standard says vice-chairman Ed Woodward failed to sign Solskjaer's top target this summer.
United chief Woodward delivered three signings for Solskjaer in the forms of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.
But the transfer window started with Sancho at the top of the Norwegian's shopping list.
Sancho was linked with a move to Manchester United earlier in the summer amid Solskjaer's hunt for firepower.
