Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been encouraged by comments by Zinedine Zidane about the January market.

Zidane has stated there "could be additions" made in the winter transfer window - comments welcomed by Ronaldo, who has complained about Real being weakened this season by a raft of summer sales.

Diario Gol says Ronaldo has spoken to his agent Jorge Mendes about his own hopes of who could arrive over the New Year.

Valencia attacker Goncalo Guedes, on-loan from PSG, is Ronaldo's top choice, along with PSG defender Marquinhos and Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

While Ronaldo and Real president Florentino Perez are in agreement about Kepa, the board has other ideas regarding a striker and defensive signing.

Real have already opened talks with Chelsea defender David Luiz about moving to Spain, while the striker interesting Perez is now Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi.
