AS Roma ace Daniele De Rossi enters tonight's Champions League clash with Manchester City engulfed by a Mafia scandal.
The Daily Star reports De Rossi was sent off in last weekend's draw against Sassuolo just 48 hours after reports emerged claiming his ex-wife Tamara Pisnoli had been arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged kidnapping scandal.
De Rossi was married to Pisnoli from 2006-09 and they have a daughter.
There had been suggestions Rudi Garcia might drop De Rossi for the crunch Champions League showdown with Manuel Pellegrini's men tonight.
But the Frenchman said: "Daniele is fine. We won't have him for the Genoa game, but he's a very important player, a great champion and a crucial figure in the dressing room.
"He's played over 100 times for Italy, he's a champion both on the field and in life."
